At All Florida Hockey we continue our monthly tribute to outstanding Florida youth hockey players by recognizing Jett Lavin 2007, Forward.
Jett Lavin is a military kid who began his career playing hockey in the Netherlands (Geleen Smoke Eaters) and has played on several teams across the country since (CA: Vacaville Jets, ND: Minot Wolves, FL: Pensacola Ice Flyers, AL: Birmingham Bulls). “Military life is full of change but hockey has always been the constant for me,” says Jett.
Jett is excited to have signed with the Atlantic Coast Hockey Academy (AAA program) in Pittsfield, MA, for this coming season where he wants to focus on improving his skills and training to advance his game. One of Jett’s qualities that makes him a better hockey player is his responsiveness to feedback. Jett has often started off as the weakest member of the team and has worked his way to the top again and again. He has received recognition for being the most improved player and this past year was awarded MVP for his team (Birmingham Bulls).
Jett’s goal is to play hockey for a D1 college and to study engineering. Jett is part Canadian and is inspired by his Grandfather who is still playing hockey in his eighties! Jett says, “No matter what the future brings, hockey will be a part of my life forever.”
